RedOffice - Office Ribbon Label Issue

A small percentage of RedOffice users see historic 'EDRMS' rather than 'ECM' label on Office application (Excel, Word) menu ribbon after new RedOffice client installation. This guide offers steps to correct for affected Office applications.

RELEVANT SCENARIO:
On successful RedOffice v2.0+ client installation, Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) should show the ECM menu on their ribbon.  Some users have reported when upgrading from an earlier client version that the historic EDRMS label remains and is not replaced by ECM as it should be.  This is caused by Office applications (Word or Excel) occasionally holding on to or caching custom ribbon changes previously set locally.  Its unfortunately not an issue that can be solved by further updates to the RedOffice client.

PREREQUISITES:
Recommend the following steps be carried out by the users' local IT desktop support team.

See following steps to carry out on the affected user desktop machine to correct this ribbon labelling issue in Excel or Word. Before starting, close any Office applications currently running.

1. On affected User desktop machine, open File Explorer and paste %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office into the search bar then hit <Enter>
2. Locate the .customUI file for the Office application (Excel or Word) that has the incorrect ribbon label and hit <Delete> key.
Note: This will remove any previous customisations to the Office application ribbon and will remove the RedOffice menu.

3. Run the affected Office application, in this example we are opening Word.  Then go to menu File > Options > Add-ins
Note: The following steps are the same for Excel also
4. Under the 'Manage' drop-down, select COM Add-ins the click [Go] button
5. In the pop-up Window that appears, de-select (un-tick) 'Redman Solutions RedOffice Word' add-in, then click [OK] to disable.

6. Follow step 3 to 5 above again, however this time select (tick) 'Redman Solutions RedOffice Word' add-in, then click [OK] to re-enable.

At this point the RedOffice menu should re-appear on the Word or Excel ribbon and be named correctly as ' ECM'.  The above steps should fix this Office ribbon label issue, however if necessary, recommend IT perform a RedOffice full uninstall and reinstall.
