RedOffice - Windows Notification Centre vs RedOffice Native Notifications

You can now select between Windows notification centre notifications or RedOffice's native notifications.

RedOffice client configuration item in settings dialog.

Document notifications display using:

  • Windows: Use Windows action centre toast notifications (the default and what was used previously).
  • RedOffice: Use its own notification pop up (same as the background process notification - now also enabled by default).
  • None: Do not show any notification. User will need to check Drawer.

If the settings dialog is shown from Drawer then it will include a "Test" link to show the effect of the change. This is only available from Drawer as it is Drawer that implements this notification.

  • Windows

  • RedOffice

The setting is saved in the users "%appdata%\RedOffice\RedOffice.config".

To roll this out to all users as part of an install distribution, add the setting "Notifications=RedOffice" to the default RedOffice.config copied to the install target of the MSI (32-bit install "C:\Program Files (x86)\Redman Solutions\RedOffice" or 64-bit install "C:\Program Files\Redman Solutions\RedOffice").
